Pet sitter instructions, without the message scramble.

A calm checklist for the people, pet, access and household details worth agreeing before a trusted sitter steps in.

Before you leave

Write down what matters. Leave out what does not.

Start with non-sensitive sample information, keep private details proportionate, and make sure your sitter has agreed to the routine. This checklist is designed to reduce uncertainty, not replace a conversation or professional advice.

01

People and safe access

  • Name one trusted person who can answer practical household questions.
  • Explain the agreed arrival, entry and lock-up routine without putting private codes on a public list.
  • Write down where the sitter can find the household information you have chosen to share.
02

Pet routine

  • List each pet's normal food, water and walk routine in plain language.
  • Add the vet and owner contact details your sitter should already have.
  • Note relevant habits, restrictions and the agreed plan if something feels unusual.
03

The first 72 hours

  • Choose only the short household tasks that genuinely matter while you are away.
  • Add useful times for plants, bins, deliveries, appointments or a simple lock-up check.
  • Keep every instruction specific enough to follow without a trail of messages.
04

Handback

  • Agree how the sitter will record a completed task or flag a question.
  • Leave one place for notes about deliveries, appointments or anything that changed.
  • Check the plan together before departure so nobody has to guess later.
Optional shared-helper flow

One small task. One clear handback.

Ready for Anything Handover includes a browser-based Companion. With the optional customer-controlled Google setup, a short task can be allocated to a helper and the helper can tick it done; the system records what that participant selected.

It does not verify that care happened and it is not real-time monitoring.Check contents, setup and compatibility

Final check

Test the route before the real handover.

Open the files on the device you intend to use, try local save and backup with sample data, and complete any optional Google setup before departure. Google features require an account, internet and one-time setup; email timing can vary.
